By accessing or using Sahab Zakat (“the Service”), a product of Sahab Solutions, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Sahab Zakat is a free web-based tool that helps Muslims calculate their annual zakat obligation, track payments to eligible recipients, and maintain year-over-year records. The Service includes live gold/silver price tracking, multi-currency support, and madhab-aware scholarly guidance.

Sahab Zakat is a calculation tool, not a source of financial or religious advice. Zakat calculations are based on widely accepted scholarly formulas, but individual circumstances vary.

• Consult a qualified Islamic scholar for rulings specific to your situation.
• Consult a tax professional regarding any tax implications of charitable giving in your jurisdiction.
• We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy of gold prices and calculations, but do not guarantee them. Verify amounts independently before making significant financial decisions.

You may use the calculator without creating an account. To save calculations and track payments, you must register with a valid email address.

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You must provide accurate information during registration.
• One account per person. Do not share your account credentials with others.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in abusive behavior.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service
• Attempt to reverse-engineer the encryption or security mechanisms

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:

• All financial data is encrypted with per-user keys using AES-256-GCM
• We cannot read your financial data
• You can export or delete all your data at any time
• We do not sell your personal information

Live metal prices are sourced from third-party APIs and cached daily. Prices may be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate. We provide fallback pricing when live data is unavailable. Always verify current prices independently for large calculations.

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from Service unavailability.

The Service, including its design, code, and content, is owned by Sahab Solutions. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without written permission. Your data remains yours — we claim no ownership over content you submit.

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service
• We are not responsible for zakat calculations that may be inaccurate due to incorrect user input, price data delays, or software defects
• Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us (which is zero — the Service is free)

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your encrypted data is permanently deleted.

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Sahab Solutions operates. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing other remedies.
